Landrover Range Rover Evoque 2.2 SD4 aut. and Coachman

Ashley reviewed on 29 March 2023 a Landrover Range Rover Evoque 2.2 SD4 aut. (190 PS/140 Kw, Year: 2013 - 2015) with a Coachman Pastiche 560/4 of n.a. kg.

Have been towing for over 20 years and also have a class 1 hgv licence, so would like to think I know what makes a good tow car!!
Have been towing with the Evoque for two years now and never once has it put its foot wrong! It's a great tow car with plenty of power being the Sd4 188 bhp model.
You get great stability with the active suspension, yes it's a slightly firmer ride on the 20" wheels however this contributes to the excellent pitch control.
It has a very high 150kg nose weight which really helps for a stable tow.
Even in strong cross winds it's a very stable outfit.
Mine is the 9 speed auto which does have a very low 1st gear and this helps pulling away on hill starts and with 4 wheel drive never get any wheel spin.
The steering wheels gear shift paddles are good as they just give you that bit more control over gear box especially on hills where you can change down a gear ready for climb.
Previously had a discovery 4 and this is easy as good!!
I average towing around 30 mpg and easily hit 40+ solo.
Only negative I would say is the boot is slightly on the small side, however as there is only two of us the rear seats can be lowered if needed.
In the 3 years I have had vehicle it has never let me down unlike the discovery 4 which was always going wrong!!! I have only ever paid for general servicing.
As the 2.2 engine is a ford/Peugeot unit this is probably why it's been good.
Unfortunately the news evoque's use land rovers own engines which are rubbish!!

Landrover Range Rover Evoque 2.2 SD4 aut. and Elddis

Nigel Slater reviewed on 22 June 2016 a Landrover Range Rover Evoque 2.2 SD4 aut. (190 PS/140 Kw, Year: 2011 - 2013) with a Elddis Avante 534 of 1425 kg.

My Range Rover evogue is a 2.2 automatic 2014 , 5 door . Great combination , tows very well and can easily achieve the maximum permitted , with plenty more power to pull strongly if needed. Good uphill pull away , with the option of fixing the gerarbox in a lower gear , great confidence on grass , muddy areas , with the four wheel drive.
I didnt buy the Land Rover removable towbar , but another make , My wife and I fitted it one evening , using the wiring unit supplied by a company from Telford ,Very quick and easy to remove , not as expensive as Land rover , and in my opinion more discreat . great capacity caravan , fixed bed .
