Opel Vivaro 2.0 CDTi and Lunar

Steve Smith reviewed on 16 May 2022 a Opel Vivaro 2.0 CDTi (114 PS/84 Kw, Year: 2006 - 2015) with a Lunar Lexon 540 of n.a. kg.

Tows perfectly well. I expected inclines on motorway to be lacking inpower however strong torque and e
Well spaced gear ratios it did very well indeed. Van copes well with the nose weight, much better than a car.The out fit is very stable too given the long wheelbase. Van punches a big hole in the air too so towing mpg not dramatic different compared to car.
We live ours since kids, dog in crate and all the camping equipment we could ever wish to take means the caravan stays in weight spec too.

Opel Vivaro 2.0 CDTi and Swift

Doug Finlay reviewed on 02 May 2013 a Opel Vivaro 2.0 CDTi (114 PS/84 Kw, Year: 2006 - 2015) with a Swift Charisma 550 of 1470 kg.

First time towing in 25yrs so not much to go by but my 2012 115bhp is very impressive initially. Previously had a motorhome that would leave caravans in its wake on the motorway and country roads but hated the high winds due to slab sides. Van alone is very sure footed in comparison & didn't notice the 30 mph winds last time out towing. I will however get it torque chipped to further improve oomph for towing as do notice sitting on m/way at 60 in 6th you can't really overtake the blue rinse brigade unless you drop a gear or pull out, slow fast traffic then pull in a mile down the road. Otherwise very happy & to think this van is now a 12yr old design, cest magnifique! New engine & gearbox were the major changes since manufacture to improve original setup. Towing 2010 Swift Island Iona 1292kg for agility...

Opel Vivaro 2.0 CDTi and Bailey

Mike Richards reviewed on 12 July 2009 a Opel Vivaro 2.0 CDTi (114 PS/84 Kw, Year: 2006 - 2015) with a Bailey Senator Vermont of 1280 kg.

Just got back from our first trip towing with our newly acquired '08 Vivaro. Absolutely fantastic performance!! Had been used to towing with a Daihatsu Fourtrak and thought I may have been disappointed with the capability of the smaller 2.0l diesel engine Vivaro. Nothing could be further from the truth. It was awesome. Ate up the motorway and made mincemeat of the 12% and 16% gradients around St David's. I loved my Fourtrak but the Vivaro is far superior for caravan towing.
