Hyundai i40
Hyundai i40 1.7 CRDi and BaileyI\'m new to caravannig, as I write this I\'ve owned a van for 3 months. The i40 is very soft on the rear end with a Bailey Pursuit as in I heard the bump stops hit twice and that was taking my time,so I have uprated the rear springs (from Mad Suspension) not with these rubber bands, the result is amazing and anyone with an i40 I suggest this is a must. The original springs had only just over 50,000 miles on them.
I also have previously fitted a tuning kit to the car for better economy (70+mpg on a round trip to London and thats not taking my time) the benefit of the kit is that is increased the torque from 330Nm to 420Nm so this extra power is fantastic. I\'m doing approx 40+mpg whilst towing (combined).
Towing on wet grass hasn\'t been an issue yet with the traction control.
Ok the i40 has been modifed but for the price of these improvements the car is still alot cheaper than many of its rivals. Would recommend this as a tow car but be prepared to do a spring alteration.
