Jeep Compass 1.3T and Caravelair

Threedee reviewed on 11 April 2022 a Jeep Compass 1.3T (131 PS/96 Kw, Year: 2020 --->) with a Caravelair Alba Style 497 of n.a. kg.

Jeep Compass 2.1 CRD [4WD] and Bailey

Jake reviewed on 14 July 2014 a Jeep Compass 2.1 CRD [4WD] (163 PS/120 Kw, Year: 2011 - 2017) with a Bailey Ranger 550 of 1278 kg.

Since there are no reviews on here I thought I would add one. I have only seen one other compass towing a caravan. I am new to towing a caravan with a car so not sure what is good or bad.
The compass has a tow ball weight of 100kg which I believe to be high. I load my van 80kg max on the nose. Progress is easy there's plenty of power and torque from the merc engine to pull the van up motorway slopes keeping to the speed limit in 6th. Exceeding the uk limit is easily possible although I would imagine it is. Unnerving. The brakes seem to stop the outfit well. I have found that the ruts left by HGVs in the inside lane pull the outfit about as do side winds and the drafts from HGVs I think that the compass could be heavier. I am new to caravanning so this could be normal. at 1685kg the compass is heavier than the Tiguan for example but lighter than the antara. I can't imagine a lighter car being more stable.So far I have achieved 29mpg best 28 worst. The compass costs £200/year to tax and for 2009 outlander money, a fully loaded 4x4 CRD limited can be bought. Hope this review is useful

Excellent towing match. The Jeep Compass is remapped for more torque. Now returns an average of 28 mpg to Spain. Easily gets it over the Pyrenees. All over, a good easy combination for relaxed towing.

I have excellent towing with jeep it tends to us fuel quite frugal I get over 25. mls to a gallon. The caravan responds to the `every move it makes on the road. All round it is a good match.
