The Seat Ateca 1.4 TSI aut. and the Sprite Alpine 4 of a laden weight of 1244 kg is an excellent combination for all journeys on all kinds of roads.
Weight
There is a small chance of snaking at higher speeds, strong side winds and thoughtless driving. Even if the combination normally feels stable, the forces by deflection side to side are great at high speed. For drivers with knowledge of, and experience in driving a caravan it is safe to drive, but proper and careful loading is still important! An electronic stability system in the car and / or on the caravan is worth considering.
Flat roads
The performances of the engine of this outfit are in general very good. Under favourable conditions on motorways it is possible to drive with 60 mph in the 7th gear, by giving the engine plenty of throttle. In that case the engine runs approximately 2000 rpm. Maybe the engine is not running smoothly at low revs so it is better to shiftdown to the 6th gear, the engine runs in that case 2400 rpm. For example, in a headwind or a crossover, downshift to the 6th gear. The engine runs approximately 2400 rpm.Mountains
On most motorways inclines (1:20) driving is easily possible in the 5th gear with 50 mph and even full throttle with 56 mph. In the 4th gear the top speed is 71 mph (4734 rpm). Hill starts are possible on steep slopes up to 21%. While driving the engine has enough power to drive on every normal road.
Attention: This car can easily drive much faster with the caravan than is safe. So always keep an eye on your speed!
