Alfa 156 Sportwagon is a very good car for to drive only and with a small caravan (rapido 32). The Consumption of fuel is very good: 7 liters each 100 kms!!.
Bye
The Alfa 156 2.4 JTD, Drives well and handles the load very well in all conditions. Hills are no problem even the steepest around Devon. The brakes on my 156 are not the keenest i have every driven with but the caravans braking takes the strain evry time and feels safe and under control.
We recently bought our first caravan a 2 berth Swift Lifestyle MTPLM 1230 this came out at a 94% match on the towsure website, although this is our first experience at towing we feel the car has performed admirably, with not being a regular towing vehicle we first thought the car may not have been adequate, we found fuel consumption fair, and the handling very good, the only down side is when driving into a head wind this can reduce the max. speed to 50mph, most hills can't be done in fifth gear, but that could be the same for other towing vehicles, All thou we have nothing to compare the cars ability with we do not feel the need to rush out and buy a better towing vehicle at this time.
