We originally brought the stilo multiwagon as it seemed the most economical on the market for towing. The car turned out to be a bit of a lemon and needed a lot spending on it. That said, it tows beautifully and is indeed very econimical at 39 mpg.

Bought the Stilo new on a 55plate. The 1.9 JTD produced 115ps. Powerwith this outfit was not a problem. Fuel solo around 50 mpg towing 30 to 35mpg. Very capable underated car. It towed at 87% and never gave me any cause for concern. The van was however very carefully loaded and the nose weight (60kg) was never exceeded. Much of the gear was carried in the car with the rear seats down, including the vans spare wheel, food and clothing and misc. bits of plastic.
The biggest drawback was comfort on long hauls, numb bum syndrome and back ache (200 mile pulls) local hauls Lancashirem to the lakes and wales no problem. Econimical outfit, recomended if on a small budget.
Now changed to an Mondeo diesel 2ltr auto with a view to upgrading the van to a Bailey s5 Pageant Bordeaux
