Swapped from a petrol to diesel Ulysse and can now get 34mpg when towing if I keep below 55mph, this included a trip to Derbyshire with the hills!Although fully loaded ,4 passengers ,4 bikes, windsurfer and extended awning can bring it down to 26mpg on French autoroutes.Usually fine, slow on motorway inclines, just have to share lanes with hgv's,no snaking issues.I can seat 5 in the car and still get 5 bikes inside with the wheels removed, versatile or what!
This is a great towcar. Loads of room (when in 5 seat mode) and very heavy so very stable, even at 70. The power might seem low but it has great usable torque so it's only an issue on very steep inclines, but even then, with a fully loaded car, topbox and van it still keeps above 55 on motorway slopes. This is just the same mechanicals as the Citroen C8 or Peugeot 807, only cheaper. To repeat, it is a great family car and towcar
Can find no fault when towing with the Ulysse - had this unit for 2 years. Confident that the combination will work in all situations.
Good for motorway cruising and excellent power in reserve for any hillstart.
Only downside, economy isnt high at about 22 mpg. Otherwise, I would agree with the perfect rating.
